- Plunge gently with a warmed plunger.

For stove top espresso: - Fill the base with cold water.
- Place the ground coffee in the basket and gently tamp down.
- Place the espresso pot on the stove top on a gentle heat.
- Remove the espresso pot from the heat as soon as the gurgling subsides.
